Private fertility care in London
Fertility and IVF care
Whether fertility is new territory for you or you have been on this path for a while, a consultation is time to understand where you stand. Natural conception, testing and treatment options are all on the table, and what is right for you depends on what the tests show rather than on where you start.
You do not need a GP referral to book. The consultation fee is published before you book, and the specialist will tell you what any further testing or treatment involves before anything is arranged.
Your fertility specialist
Fertility care here is led by Dr Irfana Koita, director and lead fertility consultant at IVF Matters. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, trained at King’s College Hospital in London where she worked in assisted conception, and holds a Master’s in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University.
You can see Dr Koita by video link at the London Diagnostic Centre, or in person at her Harley Street clinic. Her clinical work is carried out at TFP Boston Place Fertility in Marylebone, a centre registered with the HFEA — so the treatment itself is not performed at our London site.
A consultation is worth booking if you are dealing with any of the following, or if you want to talk through a procedure such as egg freezing:
- PCOS
- Endometriosis
- Fibroids and polyps
- Blocked tubes (hydrosalpinx)
- Reduced ovarian reserve
- Sperm quality
- Previous miscarriage
- Egg freezing

What to expect from us
- A process made personal. You are told the options, what each one involves and what it costs, so a decision is yours to make rather than one to agree to.
- Costs you can see. The consultation fee is published before you book. If you hold private medical insurance, check with your insurer first — fertility treatment is among the things policies most often exclude, and what to ask them is here.
- Support at every step. The team is the same one you speak to throughout, whether you are having treatment here or being monitored while you have it abroad.

Our reviews — What our patients say
Every word below is a patient’s own, published on our Google listing.
Brilliant service from booking appt to having the scan and report. The sonographer was extremely knowledgable and had a great bedside manner. I went on 29/12 and I didn't catch the name of the lady but I have to say she answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly.
Dr Bhagat was exceptionally thorough and reassuring. He explained the X-ray and ultrasound results clearly, ruling out any serious concerns and recommending the best next steps. His calm and caring approach put us at ease throughout. Highly recommended.
Went for some diagnostic tests and was seen within hours of contact with Jose. The tests were completed quickly, with everything fully explained and a report provided within 24 hours. Extremely efficient and friendly service. Special thanks to Jose.
Superb service. I had an US for my soft tissue, very welcoming staff. The sonographer was thorough, friendly and accurate. I would chose this place again and highly recommended if you could choose to have your In-Health scans.
Extremely impressed with my scan appointment the sonographer explained clearly all parts of my scan which was most reassuring. The staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly , I can highly recommend the LDC.
I was able to get an appointment for an ultrasound scan within a few days for a reasonable cost and the service was very friendly and efficient and got the scan report back within a couple of hours.
huge thank you to Doctor Jawad Yahya from the bottom of my heart for being an amazing doctor. Thank you for referring me to Doctor Hossein Rostamipour (consultant psychiatrist) for ADHD assessment.
Excellent practice. Friendly, welcoming personnel and the venue is clean and modern. The radiologist was pleasant and explained everything clearly. Highly recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask us most often before booking a fertility consultation.
Cannot see yours? Get in touch or call — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
When should I see a fertility specialist?
If you have been trying to conceive without success, if you have a known reproductive problem, or if you simply want to prepare and talk through any concern about your fertility. You do not need to have been trying for a set length of time before asking.
What happens at the first consultation?
The specialist reviews your medical history and arranges tests. Further assessments — an ultrasound scan or a semen analysis, for example — may be recommended before a treatment plan is agreed with you.
What treatments are available?
Depending on what the tests show, they include medication, ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and fertility preservation such as egg freezing. Which of them is appropriate is a clinical decision made with you.
How successful are fertility treatments?
Success varies with age, with the cause of the difficulty and with the treatment, so a single figure is not a useful answer to this question. The HFEA — the UK regulator — publishes national success rates by age band and by treatment type, and every licensed clinic's own results are published there too, on a stated basis you can compare. At your consultation the specialist will go through what the evidence suggests in your particular circumstances, before any treatment is agreed. This clinic does not publish a success rate of its own.
Do fertility treatments have side effects?
They can. Some people experience bloating or mild discomfort, and there are recognised risks — ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) among them — which vary with the treatment. The specialist will go through the risks of any treatment before you agree to it.
Where does the treatment take place?
The consultation is by video link at the London Diagnostic Centre, or in person at Dr Koita's Harley Street clinic. Her clinical work is carried out at TFP Boston Place Fertility in Marylebone, an HFEA-registered centre — so the treatment itself does not take place in London.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book a consultation directly.
