Private Blood Tests
No GP referral needed
Refer yourself. Book a private blood test directly with the London Diagnostic Centre — and if you are working from a GP or consultant letter, bring it and we will run exactly the profile it asks for.
Blood test cost from £45
£45 covers taking your sample. The profile itself is priced separately depending on which one you need, and we confirm the full cost when we ring you back — nothing is paid online.
Saturday and Sunday appointments
We are open at the weekend as well as through the week, so a blood test does not have to cost you a day off. Times are agreed with you by telephone.
Blood taken here, by our own team
Your sample is taken at our clinic by our own phlebotomy team and sent for laboratory analysis. We do not send you somewhere else to have it done.
Do you need to fast?
Most blood tests need no special preparation. If yours asks you not to eat beforehand, we will tell you when we confirm your appointment.
Private blood tests near you in London

Our reviews — What our patients say
Every word below is a patient’s own, published on our Google listing.
Brilliant service from booking appt to having the scan and report. The sonographer was extremely knowledgable and had a great bedside manner. I went on 29/12 and I didn't catch the name of the lady but I have to say she answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly.
Dr Bhagat was exceptionally thorough and reassuring. He explained the X-ray and ultrasound results clearly, ruling out any serious concerns and recommending the best next steps. His calm and caring approach put us at ease throughout. Highly recommended.
Went for some diagnostic tests and was seen within hours of contact with Jose. The tests were completed quickly, with everything fully explained and a report provided within 24 hours. Extremely efficient and friendly service. Special thanks to Jose.
Superb service. I had an US for my soft tissue, very welcoming staff. The sonographer was thorough, friendly and accurate. I would chose this place again and highly recommended if you could choose to have your In-Health scans.
Extremely impressed with my scan appointment the sonographer explained clearly all parts of my scan which was most reassuring. The staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly , I can highly recommend the LDC.
I was able to get an appointment for an ultrasound scan within a few days for a reasonable cost and the service was very friendly and efficient and got the scan report back within a couple of hours.
huge thank you to Doctor Jawad Yahya from the bottom of my heart for being an amazing doctor. Thank you for referring me to Doctor Hossein Rostamipour (consultant psychiatrist) for ADHD assessment.
Excellent practice. Friendly, welcoming personnel and the venue is clean and modern. The radiologist was pleasant and explained everything clearly. Highly recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask us most often before booking a blood test.
Cannot see yours? Get in touch or call — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
Do I need a GP referral for a private blood test?
No. You can book directly with us. If you are working from a GP or consultant letter, bring it — it tells us exactly which profile to run, which is quicker than describing it.
How much does a private blood test cost?
Taking the sample is £45. The profile itself is priced separately and depends on which one you need, so we confirm the full cost with you when we ring back — before anything is booked. Nothing is paid online.
Do I need to fast before my blood test?
Most blood tests need no special preparation. Some profiles do ask you not to eat for a set number of hours first — if yours is one of them we will tell you when we confirm your appointment, and if your doctor has given you instructions, follow those.
How long does the appointment take?
Allow 15 minutes. Taking the sample takes a couple of minutes; the rest is checking you in and making sure everything is labelled correctly before it goes to the laboratory.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear something that gives easy access to your arm — short sleeves, or sleeves that roll up easily. Bring photo identification, your referral letter if you have one, and your policy details if you are claiming on private medical insurance. Register at reception when you arrive.
How do I get my results?
Your sample goes to the laboratory and your results are sent to you once they are back and have been checked. We will tell you at your appointment how and when to expect them, rather than promising a turnaround here that your particular profile may not match.
Where are you, and when are you open?
We are in London — a short journey from Southgate, Winchmore Hill, Enfield, Wood Green and Muswell Hill. Ring us and we will agree a time that works, including weekends by appointment.
Can I use private medical insurance?
Often, but it depends on your policy and your level of cover — being approved by an insurer is not the same as your policy covering a particular test. Check with your insurer before you book, and ask whether they need to authorise it first.
