Private women’s health in London
Gynaecology
Gynaecology covers the health of the uterus, ovaries, cervix and vagina — preventive care such as cervical screening, the diagnosis of conditions like PCOS, endometriosis and fibroids, and the management of menstrual problems, fertility difficulties and the menopause.
Consultations are private and unhurried, and you do not need a GP referral to book one. Where a scan or a test is needed it is usually arranged in the same visit, so you leave with an answer rather than another appointment.
Your consultant
Dr Wasim Ahmed Lodhi is a Consultant Gynaecologist seeing private patients across Enfield, London, Winchmore Hill and the surrounding areas, with over a decade of NHS consultant experience at a London teaching hospital.
He has a particular interest in abnormal uterine bleeding, polycystic ovary syndrome, miscarriage and early pregnancy concerns, menstrual disorders and well-woman check-ups. He is experienced in outpatient hysteroscopy — diagnosing and treating common conditions in the clinic, which avoids a general anaesthetic and a hospital admission wherever that is possible.
Consultations are thorough and unhurried, with time to talk through what is happening, a clear explanation of the diagnosis and the options, a treatment plan made with you, and follow-up where it is needed.

Every word below is a patient’s own, published on our Google listing.
Brilliant service from booking appt to having the scan and report. The sonographer was extremely knowledgable and had a great bedside manner. I went on 29/12 and I didn't catch the name of the lady but I have to say she answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly.
Dr Bhagat was exceptionally thorough and reassuring. He explained the X-ray and ultrasound results clearly, ruling out any serious concerns and recommending the best next steps. His calm and caring approach put us at ease throughout. Highly recommended.
Went for some diagnostic tests and was seen within hours of contact with Jose. The tests were completed quickly, with everything fully explained and a report provided within 24 hours. Extremely efficient and friendly service. Special thanks to Jose.
Superb service. I had an US for my soft tissue, very welcoming staff. The sonographer was thorough, friendly and accurate. I would chose this place again and highly recommended if you could choose to have your In-Health scans.
Extremely impressed with my scan appointment the sonographer explained clearly all parts of my scan which was most reassuring. The staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly , I can highly recommend the LDC.
I was able to get an appointment for an ultrasound scan within a few days for a reasonable cost and the service was very friendly and efficient and got the scan report back within a couple of hours.
huge thank you to Doctor Jawad Yahya from the bottom of my heart for being an amazing doctor. Thank you for referring me to Doctor Hossein Rostamipour (consultant psychiatrist) for ADHD assessment.
Excellent practice. Friendly, welcoming personnel and the venue is clean and modern. The radiologist was pleasant and explained everything clearly. Highly recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions
The questions people ask us most often before booking a gynaecology appointment.
Cannot see yours? Get in touch or call — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
What is a gynaecologist?
A doctor who specialises in the female reproductive system. They diagnose and treat conditions affecting the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes and vagina, provide preventive care and fertility management, and carry out procedures where they are needed.
What conditions are commonly treated?
Menstrual disorders including heavy or painful periods, PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts and menopausal symptoms. Pelvic inflammatory disease and cervical abnormalities are also seen often. Diagnosis usually starts with an examination and a scan.
What is menopause, and when does it usually start?
Menopause is the natural end of menstruation, usually between the ages of 45 and 55. It is accompanied by hormonal changes and symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and mood changes.
What is an outpatient hysteroscopy?
A look inside the womb using a fine telescope, carried out in the clinic rather than in an operating theatre. It is used to investigate abnormal bleeding and abnormalities of the womb lining, and some conditions can be treated at the same visit — which avoids a general anaesthetic and an admission.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Self-referrals and GP referrals are both accepted. Some insurers ask for a referral letter, so check your policy before you book if you intend to claim.
What does an appointment cost?
The consultant's fees are published in full on this page, and the bookable Women's Health appointment shows its price before you book. Nothing is paid online.
